About Dominique Fox

We’ve been in the gym, felt the burnout, and learned what actually works. Our mission is to share honest fitness guidance.

Where Dominique Fox Started

Dominique Fox didn’t begin as a brand. It began as annoyance.

There’s a specific kind of frustration that comes from searching a real question and getting nothing but recycled, hedge-everything answers. Ten articles, one idea, zero conviction. Advice that’s technically right and completely useless the second you’re standing in front of a barbell.

Why does my lower back hurt after squats? Is the leg press actually worth doing, or is it a machine people default to? What split makes sense for someone with a full-time job and four hours a week? Simple questions. Nobody would just answer them.

Eventually the annoyance turned into a decision. So we stopped waiting for someone else to write the honest version and build it instead; a fitness resource that tells you what’s actually going on, not the safest thing a lawyer would sign off on.

That’s the whole reason this exists.

What You’ll Find Here

Everything here lives in four areas because those four are what genuinely decide whether your training works or quietly wastes your time.

  • Exercises: Muscle-specific movement guides, technique breakdowns, and variations explained clearly for every level, from your first rep to your fifth year.
  • Strength Training: Lift comparisons, strength standards, programming logic, and how to build a split around the schedule you actually have, not a fantasy one.
  • Nutrition & Weight Loss: Practical eating strategies, body composition basics, and calorie context written like an adult wrote it, none of the diet-culture guilt.
  • Recovery: Injury causes and real fixes, mobility that matters, and the outside-the-gym habits that quietly decide how fast you improve.

Every article starts with a specific question, the kind you’d search at 11pm because you genuinely don’t have the answer and you’re tired of pretending you do.

The Approach

When we cover an exercise or a workout, you get the whole picture. The mechanics. The muscles doing the work. The mistakes almost everyone makes. And the honest verdict on whether it deserves a spot in your training at all.

When we cover an injury like a shoulder that lights up after bench, a lower back that’s had enough of your squats, you get the likely cause and a practical path forward. Not a shrug and a “go see a professional.” Sometimes that’s the right call, and we’ll say so. But you deserve to understand the problem first.

The standard never moves. If a piece won’t help you make a better decision about your own training, it doesn’t get published here.

Start Here

Maybe you’re writing your first program and don’t want to get it wrong. Maybe you’ve stalled and can’t figure out why. Maybe something just hurts and you want a real answer before it gets worse.

Wherever you’re at, start browsing, take what’s useful, and leave the rest. New guides go up regularly, driven entirely by what readers are actually asking.

This was built for people who want the truth about their training. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
